It’s a special time to GET ON IT this November for YEO’s 2nd Birthday at The Oh Yeah Centre with support from Dubliner Whiskey.
Bringing Brazilian and African rhythms to the cobbled streets of Belfast, Utropiks will open up the festivities with some irresistible grooves. The recent single ‘Esperança’ is a shining example of the funky sounds that will warm you up on a November night. Described as taking inspiration from “a variety of Brazilian traditional rhythms, Jazz, Jamaican Dub music and Afrikans polyrhythm grooves” - what more could you want?
Next up will be the hip-hop and grime staple of Belfast, the one and only EMBY. He’s been MCing pretty much every club night now for a while and after multiple appearances at AVA, as well as BBC Introducing’s stage at Reading and Leeds, it’s about time we had him in the Oh Yeah Centre! Aside from his live performances, his own recordings have been steadily cementing him as a real beacon of the city's musical output.
Rounding out the night we’ll have the return of the glorious Manukahunney. The pure soul and funk band played at our first birthday party and anyone who was there will tell you just how much they want to see them again. A true musical and spiritual experience that will have you using your entire body and voice as a catalyst for soulful expression. GET ON IT!
