Venus Rising is a new creative production company founded by Claire Hall — also known as Venus Dupree. Our mission is to spotlight artists who are either on the rise or already blazing bright with innovation, rawness, and an unwavering dedication to the integrity of their craft.

We are driven by a commitment to quality production and creating immersive, unforgettable experiences.

This is the first of three collaborations across Sound of Belfast with the focus on electronic artists and video artists. This is our first partnership with Bullitt and the unmatchable selector Jonny Carberry.

Ryan Vail

The music of Ryan Vail combines elements of electronica, folk and classical music, constantly experimenting with the combination of classical instruments with unique recording and composition techniques. His collaboration project with Elma Orkestra, 'Borders' won the Northern Irish Music Prize's 'Album Of The Year' category in 2019. His current music project is being released in three volumes - each exploring and paying homage to genres of house, jazz and electronic music.

emziii (formerly known as HART)

emziii is an producer, vocalist and DJ on the rise who we are so excited to work with .Drawing from influences that range from the atmospheric depth of Massive Attack to the energy of bass music, her sound is both versatile and cohesive, moving with ease between introspective downtempo and high-tempo dancefloor cuts.

Her live performances are built around the SP-404 sampler and her own vocals, offering a set that is raw, immediate and immersive.

Phil (Nice Tuna) & Phil (Head Above Water)

These two DJs are a favourite new discovery from Jonny Carberry who are quietly making a mark on the local scene as being Selectors of the highest order.

Both are championing Belfast’s best DJs and producers through their own mix series’ and club nights.
