Belfast TradFest presents in association with Sound Of Belfast a flute workshop with Barry Kerr.
A master on both uilleann pipes and flute, Barry Kerr’s recent work has explored the concept of relating musical performance and composition with visual art. Barry was the recipient of the prestigious Liam O’ Flynn Award in 2020 and is currently the tradition musician in residence at UCC.
The primary means of teaching and learning will be ‘by ear’ with an emphasis on assisting pupils to develop oral/aural skills in addition to instrumental competency and developing core repertoire. This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced (minimum 2 years instrument experience) adults and children over 10 years of age.
