Northern Ireland Opera presents The Salon Series at the MAC.
Sea Wrack is a staged performance of art songs written by Irish and Northern Irish composers featuring well-loved classics and new arrangements of contemporary songs, sung by four opera singers and a pianist from across the island of Ireland.
The event is named after a well-known song by Hillsborough composer Hamilton Harty: a number of the songs in Sea Wrack explore themes of emigration, rivers and the sea.
Repertoire includes works by composers Balfe, Vincent Wallace and Hamilton Harty right up to Sunrise by Neil Hannon, Carrickfergus in a new arrangement by Matthew Owens and Méilte Cheann Dubhrann; arranged by Neil Martin.
Audiences can expect an uplifting and captivating evening of beautiful music and song celebrating the creativity and artistry of composers from across this island.
